Joining us as a Blyth Valley Rotarian or as a Friend of Rotary

Joining a Rotary Club offers a good mix of community impact, professional growth, and personal connection. While the core mission is rooted in the motto "Service Above Self," members gain a lot from the experience.

Are you looking to join a club to meet people, or are you more interested in hands-on community service projects?
We try to meet once a week or when possible.  We meet at the Sole Bay Bowls Club, Swan Green, Halesworth Road, Reydon every Thursday at 6.30 pm.  We chat about matters arising, future events, what the community may need, how we can engage and help the community, and more. Its a very flexible friendly group of people.

If you choose to have a meal, it is £10 per head. Membership is £120 per annum. Whilst we encourage members to attend meetings each week,  we completely understand we all have busy lives.
We are a non-profit organisation; we are not a religious or political group, and we are completely transparent. If you'd like to visit us and see what we do, please contact info@blythvalleyrotary.co.uk

Friends of Rotary is a flexible, low-commitment volunteer connection with Blyth Valley Rotary that lets community-minded individuals take part in community events and volunteer at the events we organise. You will be invited to social events throughout the year.

The main benefits of Rotary membership include:

Global & Local Networking: You instantly connect with a diverse group of local and international leaders, professionals, and business owners. It’s a great way to expand your circle, exchange ideas, and collaborate with people you might not otherwise meet.   https://www.rotary.org/    or   https://www.rotarygbi.org/

Making a Difference: You can roll up your sleeves and tackle community projects—whether that's running local food drives, supporting youth mentoring, or participating in large international projects like global clean water initiatives or polio eradication.

Leadership & Skill Development: Rotary acts like a hands-on training ground. You can sharpen your public speaking, project management, team-building, and organisational skills by stepping into committee roles or leading service initiatives.

Lifelong Friendship & Fellowship: Rotary was originally founded on fellowship back in 1905. Weekly meetings, social events, and community projects make it easy to form deep, lasting friendships with like-minded people. Plus, if you travel, a global network gives you friendly local contacts worldwide.

The Rotary core focus is :

Eradicating Polio: We're on a mission to eliminate the polio virus worldwide!
Promoting Peace: We believe in building a more peaceful future by supporting conflict resolution and training peace builders.
Fighting Disease: We're dedicated to improving access to healthcare and preventing illnesses like malaria.
Clean Water and Sanitation: Everyone deserves safe drinking water and proper hygiene resources, and we aim to provide that.
Supporting Education: We're working hard to boost basic literacy and train amazing teachers.
Maternal and Child Health:
We focus on delivering vital healthcare and nutritious support to mothers and their little ones.
Local Economies and Environment: We're passionate about supporting community development and protecting our environment.
