Henham Steam and Country Show - the club members agreed to contribute £350 again

The club agreed to contribute up to £350 towards a coach for a local schools’ education visit to the Henham Steam and Country Show on the Friday before the show officially opened. Afternoon Tea on Sunday 27th September- Whilst a not a Rotary event - we supported a fellow Rotarian!

Huge congratulations to our amazing "dream team" — Sally Bird, Kim Harvey, and everyone at 'Southwold Putting and Cafe' on the Green! Thank you, Poppi Smith, for all your efforts; it was a lovely surprise to see you after your recent surgery. You all did a fantastic job with the afternoon tea event. We enjoyed a delicious cream tea and cake, and had a blast with the raffle and games! Sally will share how much we raised soon. A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful supporters; it was so great to see everyone come together to support the charity and cheer on the hard work of all the teams. Judging by Sally's face, we think the event was one to be very proud of. You're all awesome!

Dictionaries4Life is a Rotary Project - is a long-running literacy initiative organised by Rotary GB&I (Great Britain and Ireland) in partnership with Usborne

Blyth Valley join with other Rotary CLubs to support this project organised by Rotary GBI We deliver Usbourne Dictionaries to primary school children (typically key stage 2 pupils in Years 3 through 6, depending on the club) to support literacy and help them keep a valuable reference book for life. Due to the war in the Middle East the shipment of dictionaries was severely delayed. founder, PDG Colin Bryant, passed on in July of last year, but the project has been continued by Enley Taylor, a member of the Rotary Club of London. A Date to be decided for delivery to schools

Afternoon Tea to Breast Cancer Awareness Now Organised by Rotarian Sally Bird (Non Rotary Event) but we celebrate our members doing good!

Sunday 27th September 2026 2-4 pm at The Southwold Putting and Cafe On The Green. £10 per person . Come join us for a relaxed afternoon tea! We have lots of fun activities lined up, and it’s all for a great cause—every penny we raise will go to Breast Cancer Awareness Now. This wonderful charity is the largest in the UK dedicated to breast cancer, and they’re all about funding research and offering amazing support to those in need. They came together from several well-known charities, like Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Campaign. Their heartwarming goal is to ensure that by 2050, everyone who faces a breast cancer diagnosis will not only survive but thrive. We can't wait to see you there and make a difference together! Donations for the raffle and tombola would be greatly appreciated.
